When a guest leaves, the manager or staff can access the room using their personal code, and delete the guest code at the same time. The door is then locked until activated by the next guest.

Similarly, rather than issuing a key for every door where you need to restrict access, you can simply issue a code. Employees can access areas out of bounds to the public without having to carry door keys. Entering a code into the door lock is quick and easy. And if an employee leaves the organisation, you can simply change the door code.

Digital door and cabinet locks have many applications within the world of hospitality and leisure. Smart locks are now being used to control door access to meeting rooms and keypad locks to secure service areas and cleaning cupboards.

Furthermore, the introduction of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018 requires businesses to implement more stringent security measures to protect personal data. This might involve the introduction of encryption software for sensitive information however, providing lockable cabinets to securely store customer information and documents will help to demonstrate compliance.
